the photo taken in 1970'

to understanding the history in other countries, it is more important to know the building, politics and events, identification system, also the life and culture, such as food and clothes of the country.
However, the neighbor of Korean peninsula that is often not known unexpected.
No, not known too much.
Everyone from Korean peninsula, Zainichi Korean residents in Japan, seen their figure wearing "Chima chogori" with confidence in Japan also.
Such that it will appear to cherish the traditions and culture to their mother country.
But there is also strong intention to put it the back, "we are unsusceptible against Japanese culture".
Have seen it, it has become the biggest bottleneck in Japan in order to live with Zainichi;Korean residents.

Once, I had lived relatively close to the Korean middle or high school in Jujo Kita, i saw often dressed in "Chima chogori".
watching them with interest and something how to wear well in Japan.
At that time i was studied in the library, however today we can study easily with Wikipedia.

History of "Chimachogori" is that
in the Joseon Dynasty, it was thought that it was beautiful for upper poor body and lower abundant body, jeogori;jacket became to  shorter and narrowly rapidly,to be Chima;skirt became to longer and widely. under the influence of  Kisaeng clothes from the late Joseon dynasty, Jeogori became shorter and prevalented more narrow sleeve, the sleeve must be unwound as times as dressed.

sorry borrowing the photographic evidences from in the internet,
http://jeogori.web.fc2.com/ "
truth in Chima Jeogori"
when the photo of "exposed bast Jeogori" was widespread,Koreans said that " we don't have such a shameless habit, its a fabrication."
This Korean attitude is like prove that not able to trust Korean historical perspective ,who has forgotten own history only 50 years ago.

Korean male chauvinism in ideology at the time, the custom was widespread,  because the custom thought "there is no value in women who can not bear a horse eldest son",with dominating probably.
Korean women wore the costume proudly at the times, "i was proud as played social obligations to bear her eldest son"
Behind this, still there was severe "system status".
the custom had been continued lasted until the 1950s.

In Korea boom Han-ryu, flowing often Korean dramas or movies on television, but I think to describe at the time, clothes or fashion is important essence.
however they would not allow to wear the "Topless jeogori"to the actress absolutely.
In other words, they must draw other than the lie in a movie.
Although we can see the young women wearing "Chima jeogori" in Japan, however it is important to know the history like this.
There is no sense of discrimination.
